The Economics of Social Welfare

Description:
This class examines poverty in the US, what causes poverty, and solutions to poverty, as well as how the US compares to other countries. It provides tools to evaluate social welfare and poverty programs and examines theories for why people are poor, and examines major economic security programs in the United States, such as Social Security and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.
Pre Requisites:
Pre-req = ECON 100 or 101 or 102
