Description:
This course will explore the new ways artificial intelligence (AI) shapes our lives, work, relationships and mediated (human) communication processes while also transforming human-computer interactions. Specific topics will include fundamentals in AI and essential AI literacy skills, theoretical and empirical findings at the intersection of AI-mediated (human) communication (AI-HC) and human-computer interaction (HCI), impacts of AI technologies on interpersonal relationships and emotional wellbeing along with ethical implications of AI-enhanced practices for our society. Through hands-on activities and assignments, students will build and practice AI literacy skills essential to successfully navigating an AI-enhanced world.
Pre Requisites: Prerequisite: COMM 100 and ANY 200-level Communication Course
