Early Childhood and Visual Impairment

Description:
This core course will explore the impact of vision loss for children in early childhood (birth to 5). An in depth understanding of how vision loss and additional disabilities impacts early development will provide a foundation of how teachers of students with visual impairments work with young children and their families, including those from diverse backgrounds, through assessment and methodology of instruction. This course will include a learning strand for those specializing in Deafblind.

Notes:
This core course provides teachers of students with visual impairments the critical knowledge of how to work with the early childhood population and their families. This content aligns with DESE licensing for TVIs of birth to 22 years.

Pre Requisites: Pre-requisite: VISN 602 and VISN 603 and VISN 604
