Epigenetics

Course #: BIOL 611

Description:
How does the environment inside and outside an organism impact gene expression and cellular behavior? The answer, to some degree, is epigenetic regulation: the regulation of gene expression by chromosomal modifications, rather than by altering the genetic code directly. In this graduate-level course we will start to answer this question in move detail, and in the context of development by studying the regulation and role of specific epigenetic mechanisms in patterning and tissue specification during embroyogenesis, regeneration, and disease.

Pre Requisites: Pre-requisite = Graduate degree student in Biology or permission.
