Research Methods for Public Health

Description

Learners will understand the basics of designing and implementing public health research programs. Core research concepts are introduced including specification, research ethics, design, data collection, measurement, survey design, bias, qualitative and quantitative research, data management and data analysis, research implementation, interpretation, and dissemination. Learners will also understand how research is used in evidence-based practice. This includes the ability to frame empirically answerable questions, locate data relevant to those questions, critically evaluate such data, and apply it to practice situations. Students will learn how to draw proper conclusions from the analysis, and communicate the results in context.
