Description

As cities experience a growing number of older adults, it is crucial for students to learn how to identify problems, design effective interventions, promote health equity, and enhance the quality of life for older adults in urban environments. This course provides students with an overview of key issues in the relationship between public health and aging, emphasizing the significance of studying aging within the urban public health context. The course covers key concepts related to the biological, physiological, social, and policy dimensions of aging. Students will examine the health challenges faced by older adults and learn how to apply public health strategies to effectively address these challenges. Methodologies used to study and solve current public health issues and aging will be explored. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle the health challenges of aging populations, particularly in urban areas.
