Latin Prose Composition
Course #: LATIN 376
Description:
This course provides an intensive introduction to written composition in the Latin language. Stress will be laid on writing as an active methodology, on the premise that fluency in Latin is achieved more effectively through Latin-on-Latin composition, rather that through a traditional English-to-Latin translation approach. The normal starting point for activities will be a Latin text; assignments will progress in complexity from rephrasings or restructurings of parts of the text to free composition.
